Stanta awarded new Passivhaus school at London Dock

Stanta are delighted to have secured a new school project at London Dock with Kier Construction & EAG facades. This is our third project with EAG this year and is much appreciated following months of close tendering with them to secure the project.

Tower Hamlets Council, the Mulberry Schools Trust and the Department for Education, are the clients for this pioneering new mixed secondary school in Wapping, the first new secondary school to be commissioned for the borough in almost twenty years.

The Mulberry Academy school will be a non-selective, state funded, mixed school for 11–18 year olds located in the London Dock development. It will open in 2023 and join the great family of schools offering excellent education for the children of Tower Hamlets.

The school will be housed in a flagship building that deals with the effects of pollution through pioneering ‘passivhaus’ innovation. Passivhaus is the leading international design standard guaranteeing low energy performance and exceptional internal air quality. The architectural design will create considerable green space with extensive facilities for sports and leisure, which will be open for community use.

It will be situated moments away from Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, St Katharine Docks and the City.

Stanta scope includes all SFS infill walls including boards, membranes and sealants. Work begins onsite in Q3/Q4. For more info or progress photos please visit our projects page.
