Stanta are happy to have secured a new project with the Mace team down in Timber Square following a detailed tender process at the end of 2023. And just before the year was out we were awarded the package novated to highly respected Brickwork Contractor Lesterose Builders Ltd.
It is nearly three years since developer Land Securities secured planning permission for a 380,000 sq ft office development in Lavington Street, SE1.The project involves the redevelopment of a former printworks.
In December 2020 Landsec appointed Laing O’Rourke on a pre-construction services agreement with a brief to maximise offsite prefabrication. Mace was brought in to replace Laing O’Rourke at the end of 2002 and have moved forward to drive the planning ever further towards a low carbon model.
Timber Square will build expand the use of low-carbon materials such as cross-laminated timber (CLT), Light Gauge Steel and retaining 85% of the existing structure. Build costs have been put at £200m.
The development will offer 380,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, split between two linked buildings, as well as retail space and public realm.
Stanta will be providing all SFS infill substrate scope including 150mm profiles, Y-Wall outer boarding and the associated EPDMs and Insulations etc. And of course a large portion of our service will be in design as these renovation projects require.
