Stanta have recently been confirmed as the SFS contractor at the large BBC television centre redevelopment in White City London. Stanta were awarded the contract by EAG facades following a detailed tender support and successful works on the previous Abell house development in 2015.
This Grade II listed site was the first purpose built television studio in the country and is to be reinvented under a site wide Masterplan regeneration as a new, fully mixed use development.
The scheme will see the forecourt in front of the circular building remodelled into a public retail and leisure space. The central building will be refurbished to provide space for hotel and residential apartments.
Development on the site, which Stanhope purchased in 2012, will also include refurbished office space, residential apartments and townhouses. There will be around 1,000 new residential units in total. BBC Worldwide and BBC Studios and Post Production will continue to occupy refurbished space on the site.
Stanta scope on the project includes the SFS substrate envelope works including complex facade support and external VCL layers. Work begins onsite in mid summer 2016. For more information please visit our project page.
