Stanta awarded Old Street renovation

Stanta have recently been appointed by Wates construction to provide the SFS infill substrate works to the renovation works at 148 Old Street in central London. This is our fifth project with Wates in over a year and marks our first renovation project with the group. It is also our third renovation project this year in W1 when added to the Aldersgate and King William street developments.

The new design will see the building being stripped back to the structural frame and redressed with a new façade of glazed white brick and engineering brick. The entrance will be reconfigured and extended, creating a new pavilion along Bunhill Row, significantly improving the public realm with retail units and active street frontages.

The lower levels, currently a car park and back of house spaces, will be converted into dynamic new office volumes with access to inner landscaped courtyards. A series of rooftop extensions, roof terraces and green roofs will also be added to create green spaces in an urban setting with an environmental target of BREEAM Excellent.

Work begins onsite for Stanta in August 2016. For more information and progress photo's please visit our project pages.
