Stanta awarded new Manchester contract

Posted on: 09 May 2016

Stanta are proud to announce the recent appointment onto the first Manchester Life project within it phase 1 portfolio, the New Union Street Site, with John Sisk and Sons ltd. This follows successful works for John Sisk at Wapping Wharf in Bristol and Lewisham Gateway in London among others.

Manchester Life Development Company appointed John Sisk & Son Ltd as main contractor for the first of six development sites within Phase One of the Manchester Life initiative, which in total will see more than 1000 predominantly privately rented homes developed, helping to meet the growth in demand for high quality accommodation in the city and support the emergence of new neighbourhoods.

Planning Permission was granted in July 2015 for the redevelopment of the currently vacant New Union Street Site, with the project designed to meet the pressing need for well-managed rental homes, with outstanding levels of customer service, communal spaces and a range of amenities and facilities on site. The project includes commercial units on the marina front which will be accessible to the public.

All three structures will be predominantly clad in brick, with the upper floors clad in a grey ACM rainscreen cladding. Stanta scope on this development includes most of the envelope items with the exception of the windows and brickwork, and will include internal VCLs, car park soffit boards and other such additional services.
